Job summary

Victorian Department of Energy and Climate Action seeks a Field Operations Supervisor to lead staff in forest and fire operations, delivering fire prevention works and forest management activities across Victoria’s state forests and public land.

You’ll oversee the workcentre staff, plan and deliver projects, and ensure use and maintenance of plant, machinery and equipment to support organisational priorities. Training in fire and 4WD is provided, and the role has an emergency response focus.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing works programs in forest management activities.
• Experience and understanding of forest firefighting techniques and incident management.
• Current manual Drivers Licence (A, I & V not acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Lead staff involved in forest and fire operations and deliver operational tasks.
• Oversee staff within the workcentre and assist in delivering projects using plant and machinery.
• Complete required training including fire and 4WD training; support emergency response activities.
