Job summary

Forensic Intervention Services (FIS) within Corrections Victoria is seeking experienced forensic clinicians across psychology, social work, mental health nursing, occupational therapy, counselling or psychotherapy. The Barwon Precinct handles complex cases across four mixed-security prisons with minimal travel between state facilities.

Successful candidates will engage in comprehensive assessments, risk-focused interviews, and evidence-based treatment programs, supported by ongoing professional

Qualifications

  • Registration with the relevant Australian health board or eligibility as listed.
  • Professional registrations and memberships as required by the role.
  • Master’s level qualifications in psychotherapy or counselling are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive risk and forensic assessments as part of rehabilitation planning.
  • Carry out clinical interviews to develop person-centred pathways.
  • Deliver evidence-based assessment tools and treatment interventions.
  • Lead individual and group treatment programs within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Prepare treatment and risk assessment reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Master’s degree in psychotherapy with PACFA
Master’s degree in counselling with ACA or PACFA
