Job summary

Respect Group Limited is seeking a Cook to join the hospitality team at Mareeba Gardens QLD. You will prepare nutritious meals, ensuring safety, dietary compliance, and high presentation standards to support residents’ health and wellbeing.

In this full-time role, you will collaborate with the care team, manage stock, and cover casual shifts including weekends. A Food Safety Certificate and an NDIS check are desirable or to be obtained.

Qualifications

• Cooking experience, ideally in aged care, healthcare or hospitality.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and safe food handling.
• Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Positive, team-focused attitude.
• A genuine passion for supporting older Australians.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends.
• A valid NDIS worker Screen check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals in line with planned menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure meals are presented to a high standard and served on time.
• Maintain food safety and infection control standards.
• Assist with special dietary and texture-modified meal preparation.
• Support stock control and minimise food waste.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
• Work collaboratively with the care team to support resident wellbeing.
• Provide flexible coverage across a casual roster, including weekends and leave relief.

About the Role
