Job summary

Respect’s Costa House in Lara is seeking a Food Services Assistant to join a caring, not-for-profit team delivering high-quality meals to residents. You will work with our Chef or Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals while upholding food safety standards in a supportive, community-focused setting.

The role is casual with shifts across mornings, afternoons and weekends. Completion of a Food Handling Course and a current National Police Check are required, with opportunity to grow within the

• Previous experience in residential aged care feed services.

As Food Services Assistant, you'll work alongside our Chef or Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents while maintaining high food safety standards and ensuring the kitchen and dining areas remain clean, organised and welcoming.

This is a casual position, and the successful candidate must be flexible and available to cover leave and vacant shifts. You will need to be available to work a mix of morning, afternoon and weekend shifts.

No two days are the same!

• Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including general cleaning and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report any food or beverage concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.

About You

• Completion of a Food Handling Course
• Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Previous experience in residential aged care feed services.
