Job summary

Collarcare Aged Care is recruiting a Food Service Assistant to support aged care facilities across Tasmania. You will assist with meal preparation and serving, set up dining areas, and help residents with dietary needs.

The role offers flexible shifts and the chance to work across multiple facilities, with competitive agency rates and strong staff wellbeing support. Ideal candidates have prior food service or hospitality experience, knowledge of food safety, and the ability to obtain required

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service, hospitality or aged care desirable.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Food Safety Certificate where required.
• Police Check required.
• 100 Points of ID.
• Valid Work Rights.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccination where required by facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments to residents.
• Set up dining areas and keep them clean and welcoming.
• Deliver meals and beverages to residents as required.
• Assist residents with meal and beverage service.
• Follow individual dietary requirements and meal preferences.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Clean and sanitise kitchen and dining areas.
• Wash dishes and kitchen equipment.
• Follow infection control and WHS procedures.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen, care and facility staff.
• Provide friendly and respectful service to residents.
