Job summary

Collarcare is expanding its team to support aged care facilities across Melbourne, VIC. We are seeking a Cook/Chef who can prepare nutritious meals for residents, follow dietary requirements, and maintain high food-safety standards.

Join a tight-knit team with a strong focus on wellbeing, flexible shifts through our portal, and opportunities to work across multiple facilities. Applicants must have relevant experience and valid checks to support a smooth onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook or Chef, preferably within an aged care or healthcare environment.
• Experience preparing meals for large groups.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, where required.
• Valid Police Check.
• 100 Points of ID.
• Valid Work Rights.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking nutritious and high-quality meals for residents.
• Following menus, recipes and dietary requirements.
• Preparing meals that cater to special dietary needs, allergies and texture-modified diets.
• Ensuring meals are prepared and served on time.
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Following infection control and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Managing food preparation areas and kitchen equipment.
• Assisting with stock rotation and monitoring food supplies.
• Minimising food waste and maintaining appropriate portion sizes.
• Working collaboratively with kitchen and facility staff.
• Creating a positive dining experience for residents.
