Job summary

Uniting AgeWell Latrobe is seeking a dedicated Food Services Assistant to support dining and food service delivery in our aged care setting. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to uphold the current menu, assist with service to residents, and maintain clean, safe food prep and service areas.

We value teamwork, excellent customer service and reliability, with shifts from early mornings to early evenings. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service, preferably in health/aged care.
• Availability to work 6am–2pm, 11am–7pm or 1:30pm–6:30pm.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team setting and deliver high-quality service.
• Strong customer service mindset and professional conduct.
• Willingness to work with minimal supervision and collaborate with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Serve residents meals in dining hall or via trolley service to rooms.
• Maintain daily and periodic cleaning schedules for food prep and service areas.
• Provide feedback on preferred menu items and observe residents' needs.
• Engage with residents and visitors with friendly, professional service.
• Share knowledge and support with team members.

About the role:

Support Food Service delivery at Uniting AgeWell Latrobebyproviding a service in accordance with the current planned menu and requirements of the Food Safety Program, that supports and enhances resident’s individual needs and wellbeing.

Tasks include:

• Working within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining daily and periodic cleaning schedules for food preparation and food service areas
• Serving residents meals in dining hall services and trolley service to rooms, washing dishes, sandwich making, providing cups of tea or coffee to residents and their visitors
• Provide feedback regarding residents’ likes and dislikes regarding menu planning and elevate any observations or concerns in residents conditions
• Promote and participate in quality activities, and provide outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with residents, their relatives and friends
• Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise

About you:

• Have experience and expertise working in food service; preferably in a health, hotel or aged care setting
• Have availability to work either 6am - 2pm, 11am - 7pm and 130pm - 630pm
• Can work at a fast pace as part of a team
• Are experienced in customer service and provide excellent standard of service
• Have the initiative and ability to work without supervision
• Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
