Job summary

Bahama Gold in Melbourne is seeking a hands-on leader to guide and develop a busy bar team, with a focus on wine, beer and cocktail service and guest experience.

You’ll lead by example, train staff, and partner with Old Palm Liquor for stock, ordering and promotions. A pathway to promotion exists within a supportive, award‑winning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a duty manager or front-of-house shift leader with a drive to learn management.
• Interest in wine and food teamwork and guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the bar team through busy services.
• Maintain standards across wine, beer, cocktails and food service.
• Support opening, closing and venue operations.
• Coach Food & Beverage staff with hands-on guidance.
• Collaborate with adjacent Old Palm Liquor teams on stock and guest experience.

The excitement of taking the best produce at the right time of year and turning it into something beautiful to enjoy. Provenance and sustainability are important to us, showcased in our seasonal menu that changes weekly from the chefs next door at Old Palm Liquor as well as the Da Paolo pizza kitchen from inside the bar.

This philosophy carries over to our wine list that leans into smaller growers and boutique winemakers, as well as lo-fi and minimal intervention practices. Our beverage offering is rounded out with a strong 8+ beers on tap, and a punchy classic cocktail list.

You will...

• Lead and support the bar team throughout busy services.
• Maintain standards across wine, beer, cocktail, and food service.
• Support bar operations through opening, closing, and overseeing the venue.
• Train and develop Food & Beverage staff though hands-on coaching.
• Work intimately with the Old Palm Liquor teams next door to manage stock control, ordering, wastage, and maintaining seamless guest experiences.

You don’t have to be a ready-made manager or wine expert to be considered for this role. If you’re experienced as a duty manager or front of house shift leader with a desire to learn management, and passionate about wine and food, we can teach you the rest.
