Job summary

Somerton Garden and Concrete in Somerton VIC 3062 is seeking a skilled Front End Loader Operator for a full-time role. You will be responsible for safe operation of a front-end loader and contribute to efficient batching and site productivity.

This hands-on position requires safety awareness, reliability, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. You will perform pre- and post-operation checks, maintain records and communicate with drivers and management to ensure safe, coordinated

Qualifications

• Current and valid front-end loader license.
• Proven experience as a Front End Loader Operator, preferably in concrete, landscaping or garden supply industries.

Somerton Garden and Concrete is seeking a skilled and experienced Front End Loader Operator to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is based in Somerton VIC 3062. As a Front End Loader Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a front-end loader, contributing directly to the successful completion of our concrete batching and the productivity of our team. This is a hands-on operational role that requires precision, safety awareness, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Key responsibilities

Operating front-end loaders in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with all relevant safety regulations and company procedures

Loading, transporting and unloading materials such as soil, gravel, concrete and garden supplies within the yard.

Performing routine pre-operation and post-operation inspections of equipment to identify maintenance requirements or safety concerns

Maintaining accurate records of daily operations.

Communicating effectively with drivers, contractors, customers, management and batching manager to ensure coordinated and safe work practices

Adhering to all environmental, health and safety regulations and company policies on site

Reporting any equipment defects or safety hazards to supervisors promptly

What we're looking for

Current and valid front-end loader license

Proven experience as a Front End Loader Operator, preferably within concrete, landscaping or garden supply industries

Demonstrated knowledge of safe equipment operation, including pre-operation checks and maintenance procedures

Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and commitment to following safety protocols

Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Reliability and punctuality, with a strong work ethic

Experience in the construction or landscaping sector, or previous employment with similar machinery
