Job summary

Arnott’s Group in the Virginia bakery is seeking a Machine Operator to run packing machinery, feed product on the line, and ensure safe, efficient, and quality production on a fast-paced FMCG line.

You should have previous machine operating experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a solid understanding of GMP/HACCP, plus 5S/Lean knowledge. The role requires clear communication and teamwork, and you’ll contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operating experience within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence troubleshooting machinery and equipment.
• Sound understanding of safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles is highly regarded.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow procedures, complete documentation, and effectively communicate with team members and leaders.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
• A continuous improvement mindset and proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Proven reliability with a strong attendance and performance record.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
• Full working rights in Australia are essential

Responsibilities

• Set up, perform changeovers, operate, and troubleshoot equipment in line with GMP/QA standards.
• Maintain the efficient operation of packing machines and feeding stations.
• Complete quality control checks throughout the shift.
• Uphold GMP, HACCP, and hygiene standards, ensuring production areas remain clean and compliant.
• Work both independently and collaboratively to achieve daily production targets.
• Identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support, coach, and develop team members where required.
• Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
