Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Flood Risk Engineer to join its Water Consultancy Division, contributing to flood risk management studies and the development of hydraulic models for flood alleviation schemes. The role offers the chance to work on diverse, technically challenging projects with opportunities for project management and client engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering flood risk management studies.
• Experience using hydraulic modelling software.
• Degree level qualification in hydrology, geography, mathematics, or related discipline.
• Good communication and written skills.
• Well organised and able to prioritise your own workload with minimal supervision.
• Understand the importance of prioritising health, safety and environmental issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop hydraulic models to support Flood Alleviation Schemes, deliver Flood Risk Assessments, flood mapping, integrated catchment and reservoir flood studies.
• Analyse data using ArcGIS, QGIS, Python and Excel.
• Produce high quality reports for clients.
• Undertaking hydrological assessments using Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2 and WINFAP.
