Job summary

Ourmob.com.au Chemistry Pty is seeking a Resource Recovery and Waste Planning Officer in Campbelltown. The role supports resource recovery and waste management for development applications, reviews planning plans, and represents the Council when required.

A degree in a relevant field and substantial planning knowledge are expected. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team, enjoy a permanent 35-hour work week, and benefit from a competitive salary with superannuation and development

Qualifications

Degree qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Waste Management, or related discipline, or extensive demonstrated experience in resource recovery and waste management or assessment of planning and development applications.
Extensive knowledge of Australian waste and resource recovery industry, circular economy, and relevant policies and legislation.
Strong ability to interpret planning legislation and prepare planning reports and technical assessments.

Responsibilities

Provide advice on resource recovery and waste management for development applications and planning proposals.
Review Council's Development Control Plan and planning policies.
Represent Council in litigation matters (appeals) when required.
Develop, review and implement policies and guidelines to improve service delivery and compliance.
Prepare planning reports and technical assessments for senior management.
