Job summary

Ability WA is seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker in Western Australia to empower people with disabilities and help them live life to the fullest. You’ll support clients to build independence, engage with the community, and work toward personal goals in a flexible, growing role.

This permanent, part-time position offers opportunities to increase hours, salary packaging up to $18,550, paid training, and ongoing development within a values-driven team.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Disability, Aged Care or related field (desirable)
• Minimum 6 months experience in a caring role in the disability sector
• Willing to obtain National Police Clearance, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid
• Valid Driver’s Licence and comprehensive car insurance

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to customers in the community
• Support customers to engage in social activities (coffee catch-ups, shopping, classes, movies and appointments)
• Encourage independence, choice and social connection
• Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal planning, hydrotherapy and light domestic duties
• Advocate for customers’ rights, needs and goals
• Transport customers using wheelchair-accessible vans and your own vehicle, as required
• Maintain accurate and timely progress notes

Education
