Job summary

Coates Truganina is seeking a Transport Coordinator to manage changing transport priorities in a high-volume environment, balancing safety, CoR compliance, customer needs, transport efficiency and cost control.

You'll play a key role in supporting the safe, efficient and profitable movement of portable buildings across the Coates network, coordinating deliveries, planning routes and collaborating with customers, transport providers and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating portable buildings or heavy equipment.
• Understanding of load restraint and unloading risks.
• Strong knowledge of Chain of Responsibility across transport supply chain.
• Strong commercial awareness of transport costs and utilisation.
• Ability to balance safety, service and cost in decisions.
• Excellent organisational skills to coordinate multiple deliveries.
• Willingness to challenge unsafe activities when needed.
• Continuous-improvement mindset for safer, simpler workflows.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule portable building deliveries, collections, transfers and relocations.
• Plan transport movements to maximise truck utilisation and minimise delays, waiting time and empty runs.
• Coordinate with customers, transport providers and internal teams to ensure buildings are ready and transport requirements are clearly communicated.
• Monitor transport movements and proactively manage delays, access issues, failed deliveries and changing customer requirements.
• Raise purchase orders, maintain transport records and monitor transport costs and utilisation.
• Challenge unsafe or inefficient transport practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with Branch and Operations teams to support asset utilisation, profitability and the "right truck, right load, right time" approach.
