Job summary

Blue Iris Support Services in Atherton, QLD is seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker for a casual role. You will assist individuals with disabilities to participate in community activities, support independence, and help clients achieve personal goals within a person-centred care model.

Role requires empathy, reliable transport, and the ability to work flexibly in a casual arrangement. Training and ongoing support are provided to ensure high quality care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in disability support or similar care environment.
• Current or willingness to obtain Working with Children Check / Blue Card clearance.
• Current or willingness to obtain Workers Screening Card / Yellow Card clearance.
• Current or willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
• A valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transport (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and personalised support according to the personal plan.
• Support clients to participate in community activities, social events and programs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and manage challenging behaviours.
• Maintain accurate records of support provided and report concerns to management.
• Support clients to develop life skills and pursue personal goals.
• Respond to client requests with empathy, patience and professionalism.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols, including infection control and emergency procedures.
