Job summary

KLM Accountants is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join their established team in Charlestown, Newcastle NSW. Flexible working arrangements include part-time (minimum 3 days) or school-hours options across 4–5 days, or full-time.

You will handle a varied portfolio of small to medium businesses, ensuring accurate bookkeeping and compliance. Key duties include reconciling bank/credit cards, AP/AR, BAS/IAS, STP payroll, TPAR, and client set-up in Xero, with close collaboration with the

Qualifications

• Previous bookkeeping experience with multiple clients preferred.
• Strong Xero skills including bank reconciliations, payroll and BAS/IAS.
• Experience preparing BAS and IAS.
• Solid GST, payroll and general bookkeeping knowledge.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines; strong communication.
• Experience with MYOB, QuickBooks and Excel is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations.
• Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS.
• Process payroll and STP reporting.
• Prepare TPAR reporting.
• Set up new clients in Xero and provide Xero training as needed.
• Review and maintain client accounting files.
• Liaise with clients via phone and email to resolve queries.
• Collaborate with KLM accountants to ensure accurate records for tax and reporting.
