Job summary

NSBC Group seeks a Workshop Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the workshop and fleet maintenance in Sydney. You will oversee servicing, inspections, and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

You will plan and coordinate preventative maintenance, manage staff performance, and drive productivity while maintaining manufacturer specifications and company policies. A strong background in heavy vehicles and WHS is essential.

Qualifications

• Current HR (Heavy Rigid) Driver Licence.
• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Technician, or equivalent.
• Current Authorised Examiner Accreditation with ability to conduct Pink Slip inspections.
• Demonstrated experience in workshop management in heavy vehicle/ bus industry.
• Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle maintenance, diagnostics and repair.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the workshop and maintenance team.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate servicing, inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained per manufacturer specs and company standards.
• Monitor workshop productivity and vehicle turnaround times.
• Coordinate breakdown repairs and emergency maintenance activities.
• Lead and supervise mechanics, apprentices, and workshop staff.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and development.
• Manage staff rosters, leave approvals, and workforce planning.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
• Ensure workshop operations comply with WHS, environmental regs and policies.
