Job summary

Select Logistics & Transport in Smithfield, NSW is hiring an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our fleet maintenance workshop. You will supervise a team of Heavy Diesel Mechanics, coordinate repairs, servicing and preventive maintenance, and ensure safe and compliant practices.

Reporting to the Head of Fleet and Maintenance, you will drive improvements in workshop efficiency, maintain accurate records and build strong relationships with suppliers and OEMs.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle or Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
• Strong experience in fleet, heavy vehicle, or diesel maintenance environments.
• Proven leadership and team supervision skills.
• Sound knowledge of safety, compliance, and maintenance documentation requirements.
• Excellent planning, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong computer literacy and experience using maintenance management systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily workshop operations, repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance activities.
• Lead, coach, and support workshop personnel to achieve safety, quality, and performance objectives.
• Monitor fleet availability, maintenance schedules, and breakdown response to minimise operational downtime.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, OEMs, and warranty providers.
• Ensure accurate maintenance records, compliance documentation, and system updates are maintained.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency, reliability, and cost control.
