Job summary

Busways is seeking a Workshop Supervisor at our Ryde or Willoughby depot to lead the daily workshop operations, coordinate maintenance and supervise staff.

You will mentor apprentices, ensure WHS standards, plan resources, and engage in ongoing training to support BEB readiness and fleet performance.

This role requires MVTC qualifications, 3–5 years in heavy vehicle diesel mechanics, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• MVTC trade qualifications are required.
• Experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic.
• 3–5 years in a workshop leadership role.
• Mentor apprentices and supervise staff.
• Adherence to WHS policies.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Australian work rights and valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate rosters and leave planning in line with maintenance plans.
• Supervise depot maintenance activities and workshop staff.
• Plan and allocate repair resources for scheduled maintenance.
• Ensure timely service work and safe operations.
• Maintain WHS compliance and workshop cleanliness.
• Coach and train apprentices.
• Oversee battery electric bus maintenance lifecycle reporting.
