Job summary

The City of Canterbury Bankstown Council in Greenacre NSW is seeking a Truck and Heavy Plant Washer and Operator to keep our fleet vehicles clean and compliant with EPA standards. You will operate waste collection vehicles and heavy plant, and support depot cleanliness.

Qualifications

• HR Class driver’s licence is required.
• High attention to detail with ability to work autonomously.
• Experience cleaning vehicles and plant using equipment and power tools.
• Experience operating heavy waste vehicles including rear loaders and side loaders.
• Knowledge of waste and street cleansing operations and equipment.
• Ability to identify and report heavy vehicle defects such as rust/corrosion and seal leaks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and implement scheduled cleaning programs to ensure efficient workshop operations.
• Operate waste collection vehicles, heavy plant, and equipment in accordance with SOPs.
• Clean waste trucks and heavy machinery to industry and EPA standards.
• Maintain accurate workshop records of completed maintenance and cleaning activities.
• Identify and report vehicle defects, faults and safety hazards to support fleet reliability.
• Operate and transport HR vehicles safely within depots and on public roads, following road rules and fatigue management.
