Job summary

Charters Towers is seeking a full-time plumbing and drainage technician responsible for the repair and maintenance of fixed and mobile plant used by the council. The role requires knowledge of water and wastewater systems, post-trade plumbing experience, and adherence to safety standards.

The successful candidate will possess a White Card, a trade qualification in plumbing, a current Queensland C class driver licence, QBCC licences, and relevant safety certifications.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of repair and maintenance for fixed and mobile plant and equipment.
• Experience in plumbing and drainage installation, fault-finding and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of safety requirements and work procedures.
• Familiarity with relevant plumbing codes, standards, and council procedures.
• Ability to interpret written procedures and accurately record data.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of repair and maintenance for fleet equipment.
• Follow written procedures and prepare work notes.
• Potential to participate in after-hours on-call roster.
