Qualifications

• Qualified plumbers must hold a current plumbing qualification or trade certification recognised in Queensland.
• Apprentices must be enrolled or completing a plumbing apprenticeship program.
• Labourers should be willing to learn and develop plumbing skills over time.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport are required.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems in residential, commercial and industrial settings.
• Diagnosing plumbing issues and providing effective solutions to clients.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications to meet standards.
• Conducting inspections and testing to ensure safety and performance.
• Assisting senior plumbers with complex installations and repairs.
• Maintaining tools, vehicles and equipment in good condition.
• Complying with health, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Providing professional customer service and clear client communication.

Plumbers, Labourers and Apprentice Plumbers

Qualified Trade Services is seeking experienced Plumbers, Labourers and Apprentice Plumbers to join our growing team in Mackay, QLD. This is a full-time position offering a fantastic opportunity to work with a respected plumbing company that values craftsmanship, reliability and professional development. Whether you are a qualified plumber looking for new challenges, a labourer eager to gain hands-on experience, or an apprentice keen to build your skills in the plumbing trade, we want to hear from you. This role is based on-site in Mackay and will involve working on a variety of residential, commercial and industrial plumbing projects.

Key responsibilities

Installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures and fittings in residential, commercial and industrial settings

Diagnosing plumbing issues and providing effective solutions to clients

Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications to ensure work meets required standards

Conducting plumbing inspections and testing systems to ensure they meet safety and performance requirements

Assisting senior plumbers with complex installations and repairs

Maintaining work vehicles and ensuring tools and equipment are kept in good condition

Adhering to all health and safety regulations and best practice standards on site

Providing excellent customer service and communicating professionally with clients

For apprentices: completing on-the-job training and undertaking formal training as part of your apprenticeship programme

For labourers: supporting plumbers with material handling, site preparation and general assistance

What we're looking for

For qualified plumbers: a current plumbing qualification or trade certification recognised in Queensland

For qualified plumbers: minimum 2 years' post-apprenticeship experience in the plumbing trade

For apprentice plumbers: completion of Year 10 or equivalent, or currently enrolled in a plumbing apprenticeship programme

For labourers: willingness to learn and develop plumbing skills over time

A valid driver's licence and reliable transport

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team

Good communication skills and a professional approach to customer interactions

Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain these)

Commitment to health and safety practices and compliance with all relevant regulations

Physical fitness and ability to work in varied weather conditions

Preferred: experience with specific systems such as gas fitting, drainage or water management
