Job summary

FedEx Australia is seeking an energetic Operations Supervisor to lead the Canberra operations team at the Hume ACT station. The role involves daily fleet execution, safety leadership, and coaching frontline staff in a high-volume logistics environment.

You will oversee courier and contractor performance, drive process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet service levels and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven People Leadership: manage, supervise, and develop frontline teams with strong accountability.
• Industry Experience: transport, courier/express freight, logistics, or fleet operations.
• Safety Champion: commitment to workplace health and safety, with regular safety briefings.
• Resilience in Dynamic Environments: manage competing priorities and adapt to change.
• Workforce Oversight: supervise direct staff, agency temporary labour, and third-party contractors.
• Planning & Systems Savvy: strong organizational skills with MS Office and logistics/TMS proficiency.
• Clear Communication: build trust with couriers, vendors, and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach frontline couriers and staff to elevate performance.
• Deliver daily safety briefings and ensure CoR compliance.
• Supervise daily fleet operations, dispatch, and turnaround times.
• Oversee vendor, contractor, and agency labour performance against SLAs and timelines.
• Navigate changing demands with agility and guide the team through operational changes.
• Collaborate with Deputy Operations Manager, dock/warehouse, and customer service teams to align daily workflows.
• Generate daily reports and highlight KPIs, wins, and improvement opportunities to management.
