Job summary

HEXhire in Melbourne is seeking a Fleet Controller to coordinate daily movement, deliveries and returns of plant & equipment. Based in our Campbellfield office, you will maintain fleet records, schedule servicing, liaise with customers and mechanics, and provide updates to management on utilisation and issues.

You will play a key role in improving fleet efficiency, ensuring compliance and high service levels while promoting a strong team environment and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Rental/Hire industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily movement, delivery, collection and allocation of plant and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of fleet location, availability, utilisation and status.
• Coordinate equipment deliveries and collections with customers, drivers and transport providers.
• Monitor upcoming hires, returns and equipment requirements to maximise fleet utilisation.
• Schedule servicing, inspections and maintenance with the workshop team.
• Ensure equipment is serviced and presented to a high standard before hire.
• Monitor fleet compliance, including registrations, inspections, service intervals and relevant documentation.
• Liaise with customers regarding equipment availability, delivery requirements and collection arrangements.
• Identify opportunities to improve fleet utilisation, efficiency and operating costs.
• Provide regular updates to management regarding fleet availability, utilisation, maintenance and issues.
• Promote an excellent team environment & customer service satisfaction.

Job description

HEXhire is one of the fastest growing plant & equipment hire companies in Melbourne. Due to continued growth, we are offering this genuinely diverse role that will see you extend on your customer service skills and grow your industry skills to become a trusted adviser to our customers. The Fleet Controller role is based in our Campbellfield office and the focus of this position is to support the coordination of assets and develop/ maintain customer relationships.

As part of your role, you will:

• Coordinate the daily movement, delivery, collection and allocation of plant and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of fleet location, availability, utilisation and status.
• Coordinate equipment deliveries and collections with customers, drivers and transport providers.
• Monitor upcoming hires, returns and equipment requirements to maximise fleet utilisation.
• Schedule servicing, inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance in conjunction with the workshop team.
• Ensure equipment is serviced, maintained and presented to a high standard before going out on hire.
• Monitor fleet compliance, including registrations, inspections, service intervals and relevant documentation.
• Track equipment that is on hire, available, under maintenance or awaiting repair.
• Liaise with customers regarding equipment availability, delivery requirements and collection arrangements.
• Coordinate with mechanics and external service providers to minimise equipment downtime.
• Assist with managing breakdowns, urgent repairs and equipment replacements.
• Maintain accurate fleet and maintenance records using company systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve fleet utilisation, efficiency and operating costs.
• Ensure all fleet activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, safety requirements and relevant legislation.
• Provide regular updates to management regarding fleet availability, utilisation, maintenance and issues.
• Booking in phone and email orders for all hire products.
• Coordinate the delivery and return of hire equipment.
• Update spreadsheets used to control the location of equipment
• Maintain a good knowledge of our range of gear to help find the best solutions for our customers
• Using internal Hire system Point Of Rental to assist with Report building
• Maintaining good client/stakeholder relationships
• Promoting an excellent team environment & customer service satisfaction

To be successful for this role you must have the following:
