This is a key operational role responsible for coordinating drivers, vehicles and daily freight movements, helping ensure our transport operation runs safely, efficiently and effectively throughout each shift.
Reporting directly to the Fleet Manager, the Fleet Controller is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and management of vehicle and driver movements.
You will be working in a fast-paced operational environment where priorities can change throughout the day. The successful candidate will need to communicate effectively, stay organised and be able to make practical decisions to keep the operation moving.
Coordinate the scheduling and dispatch of trucks and drivers
Allocate vehicles and drivers to pickups and freight movements
Provide pickup ETAs to key customers
Monitor OH&S and NHVR compliance
Ensure company policies and procedures are followed
Communicate effectively with drivers, customers and the wider operations team
Work closely with drivers, customers and the wider operations team to keep the fleet moving efficiently
Transport experience is essential.
We are looking for someone with a sound understanding of the transport and logistics industry who can step into a busy operational environment and contribute from day one.
You will also have:
Previous experience within the transport industry
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
The ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
The ability to work effectively within a team environment
A practical, solutions-focused approach to operational challenges
A strong commitment to safety and compliance
Previous Fleet Controller, Transport Allocator or similar experience will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
We are open to candidates with strong transport industry experience who are looking to take the next step in their career into a fleet control/operations position.
