Job summary

Destec is a diversified mining contractor operating across Western Australia. We are seeking skilled Fixed Plant Operators for casual roles to work on fixed crushing and screening plants in the Northern Goldfields and surrounding areas.

You will operate and monitor plant, conduct inspections, assist maintenance, and support shutdowns with a safety-first approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating fixed crushing and screening plants.
• Experience with hands-on plant maintenance and shutdown activities.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to procedures.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications.
• High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (LF) and/or EWP desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the fixed crushing and screening plant.
• Conduct routine plant inspections and identify issues.
• Assist with planned and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Support maintenance tasks such as screen mat and crusher liner changes, conveyor rollers and skirting replacements.
• Carry out housekeeping duties and maintain safe work areas.
• Assist during planned shutdowns to minimise downtime.

We take pride in innovation by designing, constructing, building, maintaining, and operating our own crushing and screening plants for mining sites. Additionally, we provide comprehensive ore processing and materials handling services to the mining industry across Western Australia.

The Opportunity

We are on the look out for skilled and experienced Fixed Plant Operators with experience working in and around fixed crushing plant operators based in the Northern Goldfields to join us on a casual basis.

As a Fixed Plant Operator, you'll play an important role in both the operation and upkeep of the crushing and screening plant. Working alongside our experienced tradespeople, you'll help keep the plant running safely, reliably and efficiently by:

• Operating and monitoring the fixed crushing and screening plant.
• Conducting routine plant inspections and identifying potential issues.
• Assisting with planned and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Supporting maintenance tasks, including activities such as screen mat and crusher liner changes, conveyor roller and skirting replacements.
• Carrying out housekeeping duties, including shoveling spillage and maintaining clean, safe work areas.
• Assisting during planned shutdowns and working collaboratively with operators, tradespeople and supervisors to minimise downtime.
• Following safe work procedures and contributing to a positive team culture

The Important Information:

• Fixed Plant Operator: Casual hourly rate of $65.38
• Superannuation paid on all hours worked

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience working in a fixed crushing and screening plant or similar fixed plant mining environment.
• Demonstrated experience assisting with hands-on plant maintenance and shutdown activities.
• A strong commitment to safety and following safe work procedures.
• The ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team.
• A current Australian Driver's Licence
• Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications
• High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (LF) and or EWP (desirable).
• Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications
• The ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
