Job summary

Glencore Australia at the McArthur River Mine is seeking a Mechanical Reliability Engineer to support the fixed plant maintenance team. You will focus on improving safety, reliability, availability and maintainability of processing plant assets through practical engineering and maintenance improvements.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance, plant engineering, reliability engineering in mining, mineral processing or heavy industry.
• Strong practical knowledge of fixed plant maintenance and mechanical equipment.
• Experience with fixed plant processing equipment such as crushers, mills and filtration.
• Experience in investigating equipment failures and implementing practical engineering solutions.
• Root cause analysis, defect elimination and reliability improvement experience.
• Understanding of maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance and maintenance optimisation.
• Experience with maintenance management systems such as SAP or CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering and technical support to Maintenance Execution teams across the processing plant.
• Provide technical expertise for critical fixed plant equipment, including crushers, grinding mills, conveyors, pumps and Larox filtration equipment.
• Investigate equipment failures, recurring defects and production losses, identifying practical and sustainable corrective actions.
• Lead root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Develop and optimise preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and inspection requirements.
• Support maintenance work instructions, job plans, standards and repair scopes.
