Job summary

Glencore Australia’s McArthur River Mine seeks an experienced Leading Hand Mill Maintenance to lead the processing plant maintenance team. You will manage safety, coordinate daily activities, and drive reliability of plant equipment to minimise downtime.

You will oversee preventative maintenance, troubleshoot repairs, and contribute to planning with cross-functional teams, ensuring adherence to procedures and regulatory standards. On-site role with a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience in a mining or heavy industry environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of processing equipment and systems.
• Excellent leadership and team coordination skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues effectively.
• Strong focus on safety and adherence to safety standards.
• Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with different teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to a team of maintenance personnel in the safe and effective operation of the processing plant.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed according to company procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities of the processing plant, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Provide input into weekly and long-term planning, equipment overhauls and repairs.
• Monitor and maintain equipment condition to ensure optimum performance and reliability.
• Report and document maintenance activities, work orders and completed tasks.
• Ensure all maintenance procedures and processes are adhered to in a safe and effective manner.
• Work closely with other departments to resolve issues and meet production and maintenance schedules.
• Promote a safety-first culture within the team and report hazards or risks to management.
• Assist in the development and training of team members.
