Job summary

Fulton Hogan Ltd is seeking a Fixed Plant Fitter to support our asphalt plant operations across North Queensland, based in Townsville. This hands-on role focuses on reliability, safety, and peak plant performance across fixed facilities.

You will diagnose and repair mechanical systems, perform preventative maintenance, and support shutdowns with a team dedicated to quality workmanship in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or Fixed Plant Mechanic (or equivalent).
• Experience with fixed plant, asphalt plant or quarry operations is highly regarded.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and in field-based environments.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Current driver’s licence (HR, forklift, EWP and confined space tickets advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical systems on fixed asphalt and blending facilities.
• Fault finding on plant machinery including conveyors, burners, pumps, and related systems.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on fixed (and some mobile) plant.
• Assist with planned shutdowns and major maintenance outside normal hours.
• Complete field service repairs using a company vehicle.
• Maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance to minimise downtime.

This is a hands-on role working on a various fixed asphalt and blending facilities, ensuring reliability, safety, and optimal plant performance.Working Monday to Friday with overtime, shutdown work, away works, and occasional weekends available.
