A.I.R Recruitment is seeking a Fitter for a Mackay workshop role. You will test, diagnose and repair a range of underground mining components, operating test benches for transmissions and hydraulic controls.

The position runs Monday to Friday with a 6am start, 8-hour days, overtime opportunities, and a competitive hourly rate of $57-$62 plus a 30% weekly bonus after 48 hours. Monthly RDO may be available and a supportive team environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate required: Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical.
• Experience with Caterpillar equipment preferred.
• Current driver’s licence and High Risk Licence LF required.
• Australian working rights; no visa sponsorship.

Responsabilités

• Operate test benches for transmissions, torque converters, scabs, hydraulic controls and DCV's.
• Test a broad range of components to ensure performance and compliance.
• Diagnose faults and carry out minor repairs as required.
• Accurately record test results and maintain documentation.
• Work collaboratively with workshop and quality teams to ensure turnaround times and standards are met.

Our client is a highly reputable company providing design, manufacture, overhaul and servicing to underground mining equipment across Australia. Due to growth, we are seeking a Fitter to join their workshop team in Mackay to assist with testing, diagnosing and undertaking minor repairs on a wide variety of components and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate test benches for transmissions, torque converters, scabs, hydraulic controls and DCV's.


• Test a broad range of components to ensure performance and compliance.


• Diagnose faults and carry out minor repairs as required.


• Accurately record test results and maintain documentation.
