Protech seeks an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Mechanical Fitter for a client in Kurri Kurri, NSW. The role centers on underground mining equipment with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will operate on a day shift, Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week with overtime and an ordinary time pay rate of $69/h. Ideal candidates hold a Cert III in engineering (mechanical) and have prior diesel underground mining experience.

• Cert III in engineering (mechanical trade) is required.
• Previous experience with diesel underground mining equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Repair underground mining equipment such as boggers, underground trucks, jumbo drills & bolters.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and fix diesel engines, transmissions, gearboxes, differentials, brakes, steering systems and hydraulics.
• Component change outs & overhauls: engines, transmissions, torque converters, differentials, cylinders & pumps.
• Servicing & preventative maintenance: oils, filters, fluids, parts; schedule services.
• Test machinery and record repairs before returning to service.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Mechanical Fitter to work for our client based in Kurri Kurri.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an industry leader who focuses on its people, sustainability, safety & relationship with clients.
Duties will include:

• Repairing underground mining equipment such as boggers (LHD's / Load Haul dump machines), underground trucks, jumbo drills & bolters, long-hole drills & auxiliaries


• Diagnosing mechanical problems - Finding & fixing faults with diesel engines, transmissions, gearboxes differentials, brakes, steering systems and hydraulic components


• Component change outs & overhauls - replace or rebuild worn engines, transmissions, torque converters, differentials, steering cylinders & pumps


• Servicing & preventative maintenance - changing oils & filters, checking fluid levels, inspecting components, replacing worn parts & completing scheduled services


• Testing machinery and recording repairs before returning it to service

Position requirements:

• Cert III in engineering (mechanical trade)


• Previous experience working on diesel underground mining equipment


• A commitment and high regard for safety in the workplace

The position is day shift & works on a Monday to Friday roster - 38 hours per week plus overtime. Flexibility with hours of work allows for the choice of 4 x 10-hour shifts (1 day off a week) or 5 x 8-hour shifts + overtime
Ordinary time pay rate is $69/h
