Job summary

Manuka Resources Limited, owner of the Wonawinta Silver Project near Cobar in NSW, invites experienced maintenance tradespeople to join the on-site team. The role focuses on planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance of fixed plant equipment within the processing facility.

Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, candidates must hold trade qualifications and have experience with pumps, conveyors, crushers, screens and gearboxes, plus a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications as a mechanical fitter, fitter and turner or boilermaker.
• Experience working in a mineral processing, quarrying or manufacturing environment.
• Experience maintaining fixed plant equipment such as pumps, conveyors, crushers, screens, mills, agitators and gearboxes.
• Strong safety mindset with commitment to procedures and site standards.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence

Responsibilities

• Perform planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant equipment in the processing facility.
• Maintain and repair equipment including pumps, conveyors, crushers, screens, mills, and gearboxes.
• Diagnose faults and mechanical issues to minimise downtime and support safe operation.
• Complete inspections and condition monitoring per site schedules.
• Work with operations to optimise plant availability and performance.
• Carry out shutdown maintenance activities and plant upgrades.
• Maintain maintenance records and work orders in the site CMMS.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in plant reliability and safety.

Job description

Manuka Resources Limitedis an ASX listed resources company involved in exploration, mine development and mine operations. The Company has gold and silver assets in the Cobar Basin in central west New South Wales-including the Wonawinta and Mt Boppy mines, together with a large vanadium rich iron sands project in New Zealand.

The Company is strongly committed to near mine and regional exploration and already have identified future open cut deposits to be developed and is currently undertaking work associated with developing underground operations at Mt Boppy- which historically has been one of NSW's richest gold mines.

The Wonawinta Silver Project is located approximately 100 kilometres south of Cobar and the Company is scheduling for processing operations to commence by mid-2026. This provides for a 5-6-month program to refurbish and upgrade the existing Wonawinta processing plant. The upgrade includes adding a front end deslime and dewatering circuit to increase mill throughput and improve overall leaching performance whilst the refurbishment is focused on achieving operational readiness of the existing ball milling, leaching, absorption and elution circuits. The processing plant will process in excess of 1.2 mtpa and at this time has a minimum 10 year mine life.

For the first two years of operations the Company will be transporting around 13,000 tonnes per month of gold ore from rock dumps and stockpiles from the Mt Boppy Gold Project, to blend in with the silver ore being mined from the Wonawinta open cut pits.

The sites total workforce will be in excess of 150 personnel made up of company employees and contractors. Employees work at Wonawinta on a drive in/drive out basis. The site has a well-established and comfortable camp at the site.

We are seeking trade qualified fitters and boilermakers to work in our Maintenance team to carry out maintenance activities to ensure we maintain high availability of the Processing Plant. Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor the positions will be responsible for:

Performing planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant equipment within the processing facility

Maintaining and repairing equipment including pumps, conveyors, crushers, screens, agitators, gearboxes, and processing plant components

Diagnosing faults and mechanical issues to minimise downtime and ensure safe, reliable plant operation

Completing inspections and condition monitoring of plant equipment in accordance with site maintenance schedules

Working closely with the operations team to optimise plant availability and performance

Carrying out shutdown maintenance activities, including component replacements, rebuilds and plant upgrades

Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with site safety standards, procedures and statutory requirements

Maintaining accurate maintenance records, reports and work orders within the site maintenance management system

Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in plant reliability, safety and efficiency

Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping across the processing plant and work areas

We require tradesmen with:

Trade qualifications as a mechanical fitter, fitter and turner or boilermaker

Experience working within a mineral processing, quarrying or manufacturing environment

Experience maintaining fixed plant equipment such as pumps, conveyors, crushers, screens, mills, agitators and gearboxes

Strong safety mindset with a commitment to following procedures and site standards.
