Job summary

DIAB Engineering seeks qualified crew members with proven experience to join our Western Australian shutdown and maintenance teams. The role focuses on maintaining fixed plant equipment and improving machine reliability through precise setup, measurement, assembly and hydraulic/pneumatic fault-finding.

The ideal candidate will hold a WA HR or manual C license, complete safety tickets, and be able to work in remote Western Australia with FIFO from Perth.

Qualifications

Valid WA Driver’s License – HR or manual C class preferred.
Within 2 years: Working at Heights and Confined Space Tickets.
Australian recognised trade certification: Cert III in Mechanical Fitting or Cert III Fitting and Machining.
National Police Clearance within 6 months.
Drug & Alcohol Screen within 28 days.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in maintenance/repair of fixed plant equipment.

Responsibilities

Maintain plant and equipment to maximise availability.
Set up and operate metalworking machines to produce parts or tools.
Read blueprints and measure parts using precision instruments.
Assemble machined parts and fit with drill holes and bolts as required.
Manufacture, repair and fault-find hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Operate powered machines, including manual and computer-controlled where applicable.
Inspect machinery on site and perform adjustments or repairs as needed.

Job description

We are currently seeking qualified crew members with proven experience with Fixed Plant equipment to join our expanding Western Australian shutdown and maintenance teams.

Ensure achievement of maintenance goals to maximise plant and equipment availability.
Set up and adjust metalworking machines and equipment and operate machines to produce parts or tools.
Mark the shape and dimensions of a part to be machined by studying blueprints and using measuring instruments.
Assemble and fit machined parts using drill holes and tap threads, if necessary, for bolting parts together.
Manufacture, repair and fault-find hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Operate powered machines that may be manually or computer-controlled.
Erect machinery and equipment on site as required; and inspect machinery regularly and make any adjustments or repairs as required.

The role is offered on a casual basis and candidates must be based in Western Australia with the ability to FIFO from Perth to qualify.
