Job summary

Transport Engineering Solutions Pty Ltd, partnered with Palfinger, seeks an experienced Boilermaker/Mechanical Fitter to join our Newcastle workshop. You will install and inspect cranes and hook loaders, fabricate subframes, and perform service and maintenance to exacting Palfinger standards.

Ideal candidates have a Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical or Fabrication), strong welding skills, and the ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical or Fabrication Trade (or equivalent).
• Experience working on heavy vehicles.
• Strong fabrication and welding skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proven ability to work safely and manage time effectively.
• Competent in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Current driver's licence (HR preferred).

We're currently seeking an experienced Boilermaker / Mechanical Fitter to join our workshop team in Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and inspect new and used cranes and hook loaders
• Fabricate and install subframes from design through to manufacture
• Complete installations to Palfinger's high standards
• Perform service and maintenance on vehicle loading cranes and hook loaders
• Accurately complete all job documentation
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow site policies and procedures

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience in a similar industry
• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical or Fabrication Trade (or equivalent)
• Experience working on heavy vehicles
• Strong fabrication and welding skills
• Familiarity with cranes and/or hook loaders (advantageous)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Proven ability to work safely and manage time effectively
