Job summary

Transport Engineering Solutions Pty Ltd in Newcastle is seeking an experienced Boilermaker / Mechanical Fitter to join our workshop team. You will install, inspect and service Palfinger cranes and hook loaders, fabricate subframes and complete installations to high standards.

Ideal candidates have Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical or Fabrication Trade, strong welding skills, ability to read drawings, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Proven fabrication and welding experience in a related industry.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, and commission cranes and hook loaders in the workshop.
• Fabricate and install subframes from design through to manufacture.
• Complete installations to Palfinger's high standards.
• Perform service and maintenance on vehicle loading cranes and hook loaders.
• Complete job documentation accurately.
• Maintain a safe working environment and comply with policies.

We’re currently seeking an experienced Boilermaker / Mechanical Fitter to join our workshop team in Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and inspect new and used cranes and hook loaders
• Fabricate and install subframes from design through to manufacture
• Complete installations to Palfinger’s high standards
• Perform service and maintenance on vehicle loading cranes and hook loaders
• Accurately complete all job documentation
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow site policies and procedures

What You’ll Bring

• Previous experience in a similar industry
• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical or Fabrication Trade (or equivalent)
• Experience working on heavy vehicles
• Strong fabrication and welding skills
• Familiarity with cranes and/or hook loaders (advantageous)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Proven ability to work safely and manage time effectively
• Competent in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Current driver’s licence (HR preferred)
