Job summary

Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section in Broken Hill is seeking a First Nations Health and Wellbeing Coordinator to lead culturally safe health initiatives and support pathways to care for First Nations communities.

You will build partnerships with Elders and local health services, co-design wellbeing programs, and help navigate services across regional NSW, travelling as required.

Qualifications

• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working with people, families and organisations in health, wellbeing or community services.
• Understanding of Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) and cultural determinants of health.
• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the region.

Responsibilities

• Delivering First Nations Health and Wellbeing support to navigate healthcare services in a culturally safe way.
• Providing cultural guidance and support to the RFDSSE.
• Building and maintaining trusted relationships with Elders, community members and partner organisations.
• Co-designing and delivering health and wellbeing programs with the community.
• Strengthening community referral pathways with ACCHOs, AMSs, ACCOs and other service providers.
• Promoting culturally responsive engagement and support in clinical service.
• Represent the First Nations Health and Wellbeing Service team at community, interagency and sector forums.
