Job summary

Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) is seeking a First Nations Health and Wellbeing Coordinator to support First Nations people, families and communities in Broken Hill, Far West NSW, ensuring culturally safe access to health and wellbeing services.

The role works with clinical teams and community stakeholders to apply SEWB, strengthen pathways between RFDSSE and ACCHOs/ACCOS, and reflect Indigenous voices in service delivery.

Qualifications

• Be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person with community connections.
• Experience working with people, families and organisations in health, wellbeing or community services.
• Understanding of Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) and the cultural determinants of health.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical environment while maintaining cultural and professional boundaries.
• Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout the region.

Responsibilities

• Deliver First Nations Health and Wellbeing support to patients and families.
• Provide cultural guidance to RFDSSE.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with Elders, community members and partner organisations.
• Co-design and deliver health and wellbeing programs with community.
• Strengthen referral pathways with ACCHOs, AMSs, ACCOs and other service providers.
• Represent the First Nations Health and Wellbeing Service team at community, interagency and sector forums.
