Job summary

Royal Flying Doctor Service – Sydney CBD NSW is seeking an experienced Flight Nurse to deliver high‑quality critical care in aeromedical settings. You’ll work alongside pilots and doctors across emergency retrievals, transfers and remote missions, providing nursing care in challenging environments.

With 5+ years in acute critical care, ALS certification, and up‑to‑date ventilator skills, you’ll join a team that values care, safety and flexibility, including full‑time, FIFO and relocation

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years postgraduate acute critical care nursing experience across relevant areas.
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification and ventilator competency.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients in aeromedical environments, including emergency retrievals and critical care transfers.
• Work alongside pilots and doctors delivering expert nursing care.
• Practice at the top of your scope and contribute to meaningful patient outcomes.

About You

You're a confident and compassionate clinician with minimum 5 years critical care experience who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys working autonomously. You bring strong critical care expertise, excellent clinical judgement and a passion for delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

What You'll Bring

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• A minimum of five years' postgraduate acute critical care nursing experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Emergency Nursing
  • Intensive Care Nursing
  • Cardiothoracic Nursing
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
• Demonstrated ventilator competency
