Job summary

The Australian Museum is seeking an Archaeology Collection Officer, First Nations, to support care, documentation and access for the First Nations Archaeology Collections across multiple sites. You will work with the Senior Collection Officer to maintain records, assist with handling and storage, and enable respectful access for First Nations communities and stakeholders.

This fixed-term, full-time role supports priority projects like the development of the First Nations gallery and community

Qualifications

Experience with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and cultural practices and cultural protocols.
Ability to care for high-quality cultural collections including provenance and authenticity.
Experience with contemporary collection management and use of KE EMu.

Responsibilities

Care for and document Archaeology Collections across multiple sites.
Maintain accurate collection records and assist with object handling and storage.
Facilitate access for First Nations communities and stakeholders.
Contribute to collection projects and public engagement.
Support culturally appropriate collection practices and ICIP integration.
