Job summary

Ventia is seeking a Firefighter to join the Fire and Rescue operations in Nowra, NSW. You will be part of a team responding to incidents across airfield, structural and bushfire management, maintaining readiness and performing essential admin duties.

The role requires training, compliance with safety standards, and availability for early/late rosters. Australian citizenship and security checks are prerequisites under a Defence clearance framework.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: PU A20622/PUA30619 equivalents listed in ad.
• Current HR drivers' licence required.
• Defence Security Clearance up to Negative Vetting 1 (secret) eligibility.

Ventia has over 35 years experience working with Defence and has been delivering Firefighting Services for 26 years. With a new contract awarded in 2024 for 6 years and up to two additional 2 year extentions - now is the time to join Ventia’s dedicated Fire Services Team. We are currently seeking a Firefighter to join the Fire and Rescue operations in Nowra.

About The Role

This exciting position will see you work as part of a team of Firefighters who are responsible for responding to incidents including airfield, structural and bushfire management.

You will perform duties as directed by the Station & Sub Station Officers including but not limited to:

• Maintaining operational readiness in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Ensuring that all relevant administrative duties associated with operational duties are performed.
• Complying with operational health and safety requirements.
• Undertaking training and drills as required to maintain operational readiness.

Special Conditions

To be eligible for this role, you must be able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to a level of negative vetting 1 (secret). As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen, be able to pass an Australian Federal Police check and the ability to successfully pass a CASA Basic Class 2 pre-employment medical.
