Job summary

Ventia is seeking experienced Firefighters to join the Fire and Rescue operations at Fleet Base West, WA. Ventia has 35+ years of experience delivering Firefighting Services for Defence, with a new 6 +2 +2 year contract awarded in 2024.

You will join a team handling maritime, aviation, structural and bushfire incidents, under Station Management. Roles include maintaining readiness, completing admin duties, and adhering to safety standards while undergoing ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must hold PUA20622 and PUA30619 certificates and an HR licence.
• Be from a recognised State/Territory/Federal service or for international applicants, qualifications must meet current industry standard.
• Be an Australian citizen and able to pass an AFP check and mandatory pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies including incidents involving vessels at harbour, aviation, structural fire and bushfire.
• Maintain operational readiness and ensure completion of relevant admin duties.
• Comply with health and safety requirements and participate in training drills to stay ready for operations.

PUA20622 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)

Ventia has over 35 years' experience working with Defence providing Firefighting Services. With a new contract awarded in 2024 to provide 6 +2 +2 years, now is the time to join Ventia's Fire Services

About The Roles

These exciting positions will see you work as part of a team of Firefighters who are responsible for responding to emergencies including incidents involving vessels at harbour, aviation, structural fire and bushfire. You will perform duties as directed by Station Management including but not limited to:

• Maintaining operational readiness in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Ensuring that all relevant administrative duties associated with operational duties are performed.
• Complying with operational health and safety requirements.
• Undertaking training and drills as required to maintain operational readiness.

You Must

• be from a recognised State/ Territory or Federal Service or for applicants applying with international experience, qualifications must meet current industry standard.
• supply evidence of the following qualifications with your application. (Only complete applications will be assessed). The following minimum qualifications are required:
  • PUA20622 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
  • PUA30619 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
  • Hold a current HR drivers' licence

Special Conditions

These positions require the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1 - Secret).

• Successfully complete a CASA Basic Class 2 pre-employment medical
