Job summary

WSN in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong Python and AWS skills to build secure, scalable backend services for financial products. This hybrid role combines office and remote collaboration in Melbourne, with a competitive AU$100k–AU$120k salary plus super.

You will develop backend applications and APIs, work with cloud infrastructure, and partner with Product, Engineering and Security teams to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong Python and AWS experience.
• Background in financial services, fintech or banking.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and working with databases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, Git and IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices in Python.
• Build, deploy and manage secure AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs with banking systems and payment gateways.
• Create data pipelines for financial reporting and transaction processing.
• Implement security and software engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA and Security teams to deliver quality solutions.
