Job summary

Redland City Council is seeking a Principal Adviser Financial Systems to take ownership of the council's financial systems environment, drive governance, optimisation and major improvement initiatives. You will lead system projects, partner with stakeholders and ensure robust controls and data integrity across month-end and year-end cycles.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing and administering financial management systems in a complex organisation.
• Demonstrated expertise in system governance, security, compliance, user access management and internal controls.
• Proven success leading projects, strategic initiatives and system improvement programs from concept to delivery.
• Strong business analysis skills with ability to identify opportunities, solve problems and implement practical solutions.
• Experience overseeing financial system implementations, upgrades and change management activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the governance, administration and continuous improvement of Council's financial management systems.
• Drive enhancements, upgrades and new functionality to improve system performance and business outcomes.
• Maintain strong internal controls, compliance frameworks, security permissions and audit requirements.
• Analyse complex system issues, identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
• Lead financial systems projects from planning and stakeholder engagement through to successful implementation.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders across Finance, Digital, Information Management and the broader organisation.
