Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing and administering financial management systems in a complex organisation.
• Demonstrated expertise in system governance, security, compliance, user access management and internal controls.
• Proven success leading projects, strategic initiatives and system improvement programs from concept to delivery.
• Strong business analysis skills with the ability to identify opportunities, solve complex problems and implement practical solutions.
• Experience overseeing financial system implementations, upgrades and change management activities.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes.
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving capability, with a focus on identifying root causes and driving continuous improvement.
• Ability to communicate complex financial and technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Financial Systems Leadership - Lead the governance, administration and continuous improvement of Council's financial management systems.
• Strategic System Optimisation - Drive enhancements, upgrades and new functionality to improve system performance and business outcomes.
• Governance & Controls - Maintain strong internal controls, compliance frameworks, security permissions and audit requirements.
• Problem Solving at the Source - Analyse complex system issues, identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
• Project Delivery - Lead financial systems projects from planning and stakeholder engagement through to successful implementation.
• Trusted Business Partner - Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders across Finance, Digital, Information Management and the broader organisation.
• System Integrity & Continuity - Oversee critical financial system processes, data quality, month-end and year-end activities.
• Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance reporting and improve the user experience.
