You will build and stress-test complex models, structure debt solutions for energy projects, and support investment decisions, due diligence, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting with banks and investors.

Qualifications

• Advanced financial modelling across three-statement, project finance and debt structures.
• Experience with energy, infrastructure or utility-scale financing.
• Hands-on experience with debt financing, bank models and due diligence.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or Engineering.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

A global energy and infrastructure business is seeking a hands‑on Financial Modeller to join their Sydney-based team, coming from an energy or banking background. This is a genuinely modelling-heavy role, sitting at the centre of structured and project financing activities Australia-wide - working closely with debt and equity providers, banks and investors to support financing, investment, and M&A transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and own complex, structured financial models from scratch - supporting project development, financing, and investment decision-making
• Model and structure debt financing solutions for energy projects
• Build and stress-test scenario and sensitivity models to support financing and investment committee decisions
• Contribute to M&A activities, including financial analysis, valuation modelling, and due diligence
• Maintain and evolve models supporting broader finance activities - budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
• Work directly with banks, investors, and financial stakeholders on model outputs, assumptions, and structuring

About You

• Advanced financial modelling - three-statement, project finance/debt structures, LBO, scenario / sensitivity analysis.
• Strong background in energy, infrastructure, or utility-scale project financing - from either the developer or banking side
• Deep, practical experience with debt financing, bank models and transaction due diligence
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Engineering
• Full working rights in Australia required
