Job summary

Netwealth is seeking a Manager of Financial Crime Operations in Melbourne. You will lead an operational team, balance day-to-day risk activities with strategic improvements, and collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Technology and Distribution to protect customers and the business.

You will shape capability, governance and processes, ensuring adherence to AML/CTF obligations, and you will foster a high-performing, supportive team culture with strong leadership and clear performance

Qualifications

• Four+ years in financial crime operations across AML/CTF, fraud or risk within financial services.
• Demonstrated people leadership including coaching, performance management and workload planning.
• Solid knowledge of AML/CTF obligations and customer due diligence and transaction monitoring.
• Practical understanding of fraud and scam risks and operational controls.
• Experience managing performance against service levels and regulatory requirements.
• Strong investigative and judgement abilities for complex escalations and risk-based decisions.
• Ability to translate operational data into workflow/process improvements.
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day Financial Crime Operations and set priorities.
• Coach and develop Analysts with clear objectives and feedback.
• Manage workflow, capacity and backlogs while maintaining service levels.
• Oversee complex cases and escalations with sound risk-based decisions.
• Improve quality of investigations, documentation and calibration.
• Monitor performance using data to drive productivity and outcomes.
• Drive process improvement, remediation and automation opportunities.
• Support projects and change with operational readiness and training.
