Job summary

Netwealth in Australia is seeking a senior fraud engineering leader to own end-to-end fraud capabilities across detection, investigation and response. You’ll work with Product, Risk, Compliance, Operations and Cyber Security to balance customer protection with delivery quality.

You’ll lead an inclusive engineering squad, set strategy, mentor engineers, and embed security, privacy and observability across the lifecycle. A hybrid model is offered, with Melbourne CBD office access.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering teams.
• Proven track record in secure, reliable, scalable products.
• Ability to establish service ownership and standards.
• Strong understanding of modern engineering practices (CD, testing, observability).
• Balanced judgement in customer experience, risk, speed and cost.
• Experience communicating tech risk to senior stakeholders.
• Willingness to identify risks early with clear options.
• AI-assisted engineering awareness, security and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Establish and evolve fraud engineering strategy and roadmap.
• Lead and grow an inclusive engineering team.
• Own delivery and operation of fraud prevention, detection, investigation and response capabilities.
• Embed quality, security, privacy, resilience and observability across the engineering lifecycle.
• Create clear decisions across technical, product, risk and operational teams.
• Set sustainable technical direction and use data, engineering and AI-assisted practices to improve delivery and fraud outcomes.
• Use balanced measures across customer protection, fraud risk, delivery, reliability, quality, people and financial outcomes to guide priorities and investment.
