Charterhouse partners with a well-established logistics business to appoint a Financial Controller who will lead the finance function and partner with senior leadership on commercial and strategic decisions. This is a broad, hands-on role suited to someone comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and able to drive strong financial performance.

Based in Mascot, Sydney, the role requires a commercially minded finance professional with strong technical accounting and reporting skills,

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Experience leading a finance function and partnering with senior leadership.
• Proven budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and controls expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting function.
• Own the month-end, year-end and financial reporting processes.
• Establish and maintain strong financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Provide senior management with clear insight into financial performance, risks and opportunities.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and the company’s overall financial position.
• Oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with accounting/regulatory requirements.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and other key financial stakeholders.
• Provide commercial and financial input into business development initiatives and strategic projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and the overall effectiveness of the finance function.
• Lead, develop and mentor the finance team and partner with operational leadership.
