Job summary

C3 Talent in Brisbane seeks a technically strong Financial Controller to act as 2IC to the CFO, leading financial control, governance and compliance with a capable finance team. You will partner with operations and senior leaders to deliver insightful financial analysis, KPIs and performance reporting to inform strategic decision-making across the business.

Are you a technically strong, commercially savvy Financial Controller? Keen to join a successful, acquisitive division of an ASX-listed organisation?

If so, this role may suit you, providing:

• High-impact leadership: As 2IC to the CFO, you will take ownership of financial control, governance and compliance while leading a capable finance team.
• Data-driven decision-making: Partner with operations and senior leaders to deliver insightful financial analysis, KPIs and performance reporting.
• Strong technical foundation: Take the lead across statutory reporting, audit, taxation, financial controls and the reporting requirements of ASX-listed shareholders.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead financial reporting and technical accounting, delivering accurate and timely information in line with internal and shareholder requirements.
• Oversee statutory reporting, audit processes and taxation obligations while maintaining a strong financial control environment.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, liquidity and banking requirements to support the ongoing financial needs of the business.
• Deliver high-quality financial reporting, analysis and commentary to the CFO, executive leadership and Board.
• Coordinate financial and governance information required by ASX-listed shareholders and other key stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop high-performing finance teams across financial reporting and transactional finance.
• Provide financial leadership across ERP transition and transformation projects, strengthening reporting and controls as the business evolves.
• Drive automation, risk management and process optimisation to improve financial governance and operational efficiency.
• Act as a trusted business partner, supporting commercial decision-making, investment opportunities and broader strategic initiatives.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will be CA/CPA qualified, ideally with prior chartered accounting experience, and bring 10+ years’ experience across financial control, technical accounting and financial reporting within complex organisations.

You will have strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), statutory reporting, taxation and audit requirements, along with experience working within an ASX-listed environment and exposure to group reporting and governance requirements.

As an experienced finance leader, you will have a track record of developing and mentoring high-performing teams. You will be commercially astute, confident engaging with senior stakeholders and able to translate financial information into meaningful insights that support decision-making.

You will also bring strong experience across cash flow, working capital and treasury management, with exposure to ERP implementations, finance transformation or significant systems change highly regarded.
