Job summary

Ignite is seeking a Financial Controller or Finance Manager to lead a high-performing finance function, drive financial governance, and partner with senior stakeholders to support strategic objectives for the business.

You will own month-end close, statutory reporting, budgeting and audits, mentor the finance team, and drive process improvements across the organisation with a commercial mindset. This is a chance to shape financial strategy and enable growth in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related.
• Professional qualification: CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in financial controller or finance leadership.
• Strong technical accounting, reporting, and compliance expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting, including month-end close, management reporting, budgets, forecasts, and business performance analysis.
• Ensure the integrity of the balance sheet through robust financial controls, reconciliations, and review processes.
• Oversee statutory reporting obligations, coordinating external audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage internal audit activities, driving successful audit outcomes and timely resolution of findings.
• Ensure the accurate preparation and submission of statutory accounts, tax filings, and other compliance requirements.
• Partner with senior leaders and key stakeholders to provide strategic financial advice, commercial insight, and governance support.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
• Drive process improvements, finance transformation initiatives, and continuous improvement projects across the finance function.
• Support business growth through effective financial planning, analysis, and risk management.

About You

• Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, and compliance expertise.
• Proven experience leading external and internal audit processes.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence business decisions and partner with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of developing and managing high-performing teams.
• Advanced knowledge of SAP and financial systems.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing competing priorities.
• Experience in the Mechanical industry will be highly regarded.
